LG Card Limited

LG Card completed an IPO on the Korean Stock Exchange on April 22, 2002 with a market capitalization of US$3.3 billion based on the IPO price of KW58,000 per share. In June 2002, LG Card became a component member of the KOSPI 200 (Korea Composite Stock Price Index).

LG Card is Korea's largest credit card company with over 20% market share and about 12 million cardholders. The company is part of the LG Group, one of the largest business groups in Korea.

GEMS O&G invested US$40 million in LG Card in December 2000 as part of a US$370 million share placement that included investors such as Warburg Pincus, GIC (Government of Singapore Investment Corporation), AMP, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. The valuation of LG Card at the time of the investment was US$1.8 billion.
