Size of Investment
Investments are normally between US$10 million and US$50 million. No single investment exceeds or will exceed 20% of the capital of each Fund.
 
Holding Period
We invest with a three to five year time horizon.
 
Expected Return
GEMS will not consider any investment where we cannot clearly identify a minimum Internal Rate of Return of 25% in US dollar terms.		  

Investment Criteria
 
Board Position
We seek board representation that is commensurate with our shareholding. We add value through acting as the investee company's conduit to the entire GEMS network.

Exit Strategy
Prior to making any investment, we explore multiple exit strategies expected to produce the highest returns. These strategies may include trade sale, put options, buyouts, strategic investors, new financial investors, IPOs and other M&A transactions. We pay particular attention to ensuring additional protection for our funds through the use of structured finance techniques and instruments wherever possible.
